  • Recent score 439 dated Nov 15 2017 and no of application invited 2750

A total of 2,750 candidates have been invited by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in the Express Entry draw that was held on November 15th. The invited candidates will now have to apply for permanent residency for Canada. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the candidate who was sent the Invitation to Apply (ITA) stood at 439.

All candidates who had scored 439 and above were invited to apply. In case there were more than one candidates who obtained the same score were selected as per the date on which they submitted their profile in the Express Entry pool. For the November 15th draw, candidates who had submitted their profile before October 19th, 2017, at 12:02:28 UTC, were picked up in case there was a tie up.

The CRS score of this Express Entry draw was 19 points lower as compared to the draw that took place last week, which stood at 458 points. In the past three weeks, this is the fourth Express Entry draw that has taken place. A trend like this had only happened only once before the introduction of Express Entry.

Recently, Canada made announcement of its immigration plans for the next three years. More number of Express Entry draws may result in more number of ITAs being issued and the CRS cut-off score getting lower. This will result as the candidates with higher scores are being picked up during draws.

In the announcement made on Immigration Levels Plan, Canada has set up the target to bring in almost one million new immigrants to the country in the next 3 years between 2018 and 2020.

It has been detailed that 250,000 of these new immigrants will come through different Express Entry programs, such as the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC), Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The number of immigrants that will come to the country will increase year after year.

The November 15th Express Entry draw was the 78th draw that has taken place ever since the new immigration system was brought into effect on January 1st, 2015.
